Help Us Honor Officer Patrick Black: A Hero Finally Recognized
Story
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are reaching out today to ask for your help in honoring a true hero whose sacrifice went unrecognlzed for far too long, In 1943, Customs & Border Protection Officer Patrick Black traglcally lost his life in the line of duty when he was struck by a longshoreman’s truck while on duty. The longshoreman was charged with manslaughter, but because of the chaos of World War 2, Officer Black’s death did not receive the recognition it deserved at the time.
His family, residing in Ireland, was unable to attend his service due to wartime travel restrictions, and his coworkers took it upon themselves to secure a burial plot and lay him to rest in the Bronx.
Last year, Officer Patrick Black’s death was finally declared a line of duty death, bringing some closure to his story after nearly 80 years.
However, Officer Black’s grave still lacks a proper headstone -a final tribute fitting for a man who gave his life in service to his country.
We are asking for your help to raise funds to give Officer Black the headstone he deserves.
Our goal is to ensure that this hero’s sacrifice is permanently and properly commemorated, so his legacy will never be forgotten. Your donation will go directly towards covering the costs of a headstone and honoring Officer Black’s memory.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Officer Black the dignified memorial he has long deserved, Even if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign with your friends and family will help spread the word and ensure that Patrick Black is remembered.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support in helping us pay tribute to a man who gave everything for his community and his country.
Let’s come together to ensure Officer Black is never forgotten.
